Game of Thrones Screencap Breakdown: “Eastwatch”
By Corey Smith
Bran’s letter has reached the Citadel. Is that Archmaester reading it upside down? Look at the direwolf sigil.
Sam pretends to work as he listens in on the conversation. Now they’ll have to pay attention to the army of the dead, he thinks, wrongly.
Sam interjects, arguing on Bran’s behalf. The maesters are like “who the hell is this kid?”
“Some paraplegic in the North says there are zombies and White Walkers coming for us. Lol.”
Sam is more than a little upset by their inaction, but obeys when asked to leave the room so the archmaesters can discuss important things like rookery repairs.
Nice shot of the direwolf sigil, which is magically on the left side now.
Over on Dragonstone, Jon has received the same letter. Varys is keeping it safe for him. Thank god.
Varys and Tyrion are discussing Dany’s burning of the Tarlys. Tyrion has had to break out the booze for the occasion.
I’m still loving the throne room on Dragonstone. Much more foreboding that the Red Keep.
Varys does not enjoy Tyrion’s wine.
In addition to receiving an update on the Night King’s glacial progress, the letter informs Jon that both Bran and Arya are alive.
Jon is shocked at this news, but only for a moment. He’s got business to handle.
As the power players discuss what do to, we can’t take our eyes off the Painted Table.
Or the cool figurines.
The dragons are the best ones. We also like how Dany is sitting near the dragon figurines, and Jon near the direwolves.
Tyrion appears to not believe what he’s about to suggest: an armistice with Cersei.
Jorah Mormont looking pretty baller in his new duds. Remember that ragged-looking yellow shirt he wore for the past 12 years?
This is Dany’s face when Jon suggests he lead the raiding party north of the Wall to capture a wight. This is all the evidence we need that a romance is blooming between the two monarchs.
