Welcome to another episode of Take the Black, Winter is Coming’s Game of Thrones podcast. This week, our larger-than-usual panel discusses the highs and lows of Game of Thrones Episode 705, “Eastwatch.”
Just to warn you: Some of us go negative about the episode. Here are some topics we hit:
- Was the opening scene a waste of a good cliffhanger?
- Corey Thone and Sarah heatedly debate Dany’s decision to burn Dickon and Randyll Tarly.
- The scene between Jon and Drogon gets much love.
- While Ser Friendzone is back, Isis knows he’s no competition for Jon Snow.
- We all agree the Maesters are just the worst, and that the reveal that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark were married was done quite cleverly.
- We marvel at (the lack of) Jon’s reaction to the news of Arya and Bran’s homecoming.
- Gendry is back, and Isis and Sarah can’t get enough.
- We felt the ending was cheesy and that the episode felt more rushed than usual. #CourtingControversy
As usual, Take the Black leans heavily on the NSFW side (beware of F-bombs). You’ve been warned.
