Game of Thrones Screencap Breakdown: “Beyond the Wall”

From family drama to zombie dragons, “Beyond the Wall” had a little bit of everything, and we’ve got it all in our screencap breakdown. Nothing gets past us. We are the shield that guards the realm of the unknowing viewer. So let’s dive into the nitty-gritty of the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones season 7: “Beyond the Wall.”
First up, Eastwatch-by-the-Sea again appears in the opening credits. We’re not done marveling at seeing another location on the Wall.
Speaking of locations, we soar over the Painted Table on Dragonstone, which is bereft of figurines. The shot starts at Dragonstone…
… and ends up north of the Wall
Which is exactly where we pick up the action, with Jon Snow and crew tramping through this gorgeous-looking landscape.
Just a couple of boys, out for a stroll.
This is very similar to my view each morning when I get in my run.
Kristofer Hivju’s smirk is a national treasure.
The sun rises over our group as they continue their search for a lone wight.
Below, we have Gendry photographed mid-whinge.
The Hound is happy to call him out for it.
Gendry is not finding any sympathy among the Brotherhood lads, who like proper bros advise him to just drink his problems away…
…which he does. Take what happiness you can find up here.
More stunning vistas. Other than being cold as hell, surely no one was complaining about working in these surroundings.
Jon offers Jorah Longclaw, which was originally the ancestral sword of House Mormont. Jorah politely refuses and wishes Jon’s unborn children well. An odd thing to say.
Heading south, we go to Winterfell. This is one of the rare times when Winterfell is south of something.
Arya is standing where Ned used to watch his children practice in the courtyard.
The detail in this shot is amazing. It’s either lunch time, or too cold outside for everyone to go out.
Not our Stark sisters, though — they’re ready to rumble. And again, the details are great. Look at the spider webs.
Arya pulls out the letter Sansa wrote urging Robb to bend the knee to Joffrey. She throws her disdain for Sansa in her face.
It does not go over well with Sansa, who we leave standing alone on the walkway.
