Parodies, memes and other funnies from “The Dragon and the Wolf”

Welcome to a collection of parodies, memes, and other funny things that cropped up in the wake of “The Dragon and the Wolf,” the Game of Thrones season 7. Begin laughter.

Although really, we only need one thing this week: here’s a video of the actors behind Jorah, the Hound, Tormund, and Beric Dondarrion jamming out between takes.

They called themselves the Brotherhood Without Banjos, by the way. God help me, but I’d see them on tour.

In video recaps, we have another edition of Ozzy Man’s ever-reliable review show…

…and the final episode of Gay of Thrones for the year, wherein hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness and comedian Maria Bamford break down the season finale in a sassy fashion.

“Have you ever been a single mother without any kids?” This was gold.

What will I miss more? Game of Thrones or the Chrys Reviews recaps of Game of Thrones? Probably Game of Thrones, but these are still great:

This week, the funnies went beyond the show itself. For example, if you happened to watch Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty on Sunday, you might have seen this stinger at the end of the episode:

Ouch.

Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon was quick to point out that he had nothing to do with the “tragically tacky” title card — Adult Swim airs these bumpers before and after its shows without input from the showrunners. He took whoever came up with the joke to task on Instragram:

Elsewhere on Instragram, fan Olivia Bowes posted a photo she took with Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen…

…only to be trolled by Allen himself. “Unlike Theon I grew some balls and asked for a photo.” Allen’s comment: “Actually your Mum asked for you.” Ha!

Bowes took it in stride, though. “Shhh,” she replied back, “then my caption doesn’t work as well.”

Game of Thrones cast members were getting up all over social media this week. Here’s how Sophie Turner responded on Twitter to a fan

Ouch again.

The Simpsons got in on the fun, too, managing to reference both the season 7 finale and the recent solar eclipse:

Finally, let’s end with this extremely interesting trailer for a Game of Thrones spinoff…set in modern times, completely with Targaryen corporations, a Lannister prime minister, direwolves in limos, and White Walkers living among us.

We don’t think a modern take on the story is in the cards for HBO, but if it really wants to get the most out of the five spinoffs its developing, it should keep an open mind.

Oh, one more: the Hound can’t open a box.
