See the storyboard behind Daenerys’ dramatic entrance in “The Dragon and the Wolf”

As it does every week, HBO has released the storyboards behind a sequence from the latest episode of Game of Thrones on its Making Game of Thrones blog. This week, it’s treated us to the storyboard behind the scene from the season 7 finale where Daenerys, mindful of the value of arriving fashionably late, lands at the meeting in the Dragonpit of King’s Landing. Have a look:

It plays out onscreen pretty much how it does on the storyboard. My favorite image is the one of Cersei looking incredibly unimpressed.

HBO released a bonus storyboard on its Instagram page. This time, we see the wight the gang brought up from beyond the Wall charge at Cersei before the Hound slices it into pieces. Not that that slows it down.

That meeting was just full of dramatic reveals, wasn’t it? Again, the final product ended up working out pretty much as planned.

Also, artist Robert Ball has one more Beautiful Death illustration to show us. This is what he cooked up for “The Dragon and the Wolf.” Naturally, it has to do with Littlefinger’s death.

Arya slices off the head of the mockingbird, the sigil Littlefinger invented for himself, while three direwolves look on. It’s a fitting tribute to one of the best players in the game.
