Valar Morghulis: Who’s most likely to die in the season 8 premiere?
By Corey Smith
30-42. Red-Wedding surprised
We would stake our life that these characters make it through the season 8 premiere.
30. Meera Reed: 8%. It’d be surprising to even see Meera in the premiere, as we don’t anticipate her return until her father Howland shows up to vouch for Jon’s heritage. Which may never happen.
31. Tyrion Lannister: 7%. Did Tyrion make a deal with the devil? If so, it’ll likely get him burned to a crisp. Just not in the season opener.
32. Jon Snow: 9%. Night King, schmight king. Jon’s in love and that never ends well on Game of Thrones. Also, he’s already dead, technically.
33. Daenerys Targaryen: 8%. Dany will survive long enough to learn of Jon’s heritage at the least.
34. Zombie Viserion: 8%. Viserion has a lot of havoc to wreak before he goes. Plus, we want to see some dragon on dragon action before the show is over.
35. Samwell Tarly: 7%. Sam and Bran make a formidable team, and one that’s hard to surprise. Just ask Littlefinger.
36. Gilly (and little Sam): 6%. Sam needs to give Gilly more credit — she’s the one discovered Rhaegar and Lyanna’s marriage. Anyways, she’s safe for now.
37. Cersei Lannister: 5%. In the premiere, Cersei will be far from any fighting.
38. Sansa Stark: 4%. Unless the dead have arrived at Winterfell in the premiere, Sansa should be safe there now that she and Arya are all buddy-buddy.
39. Drogon: 4%. Drogon needs to whip some undead dragon ass before he goes, and that won’t be in the season premiere.
40. Bran Stark: 3%. Bran will be an invaluable weapon in the war to come, and is safe until the Night King makes it to Winterfell. Which won’t be in Episode 1.
41. Arya Stark: 3%. Unless Arya goes on a one-woman assassination mission against the Night King, she’s safe in Winterfell for the moment…but only for the moment.
42. The Night King: 1%. The Night King busts through the Wall only to die in the premiere? That would break television as we know it.
