Loopholes that should be cleared up in Twice Upon a Time

BBC, Twice Upon a Time

There is still so much unknown about Twice Upon a Time, which leaves so much to guess about!

Despite the fact that the synopsis for Twice Upon a Time has been released, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the special. Will it be a one-off, a story by itself, or still have some connections to loopholes that still are bugging me us? Matt Smith’s regeneration episode tied up every loose end across his entire three-year era, but it was also part of a three-episode series, The Name of the Doctor, the Day of the Doctor, the Time of the Doctor.

However, this time is different, because this episode seems to be alone, and tying other problems into what seems to be a difficult regeneration episode might bring it off track. Nevertheless, there are still questions that we have that could be answered in the finale if Moffat chooses to do so.

The pesky simulation universe

I know, I keep going on about this. And whether it’s due to my thick head, or a writing error, I can’t let it go. What happened to the simulation universe? Did it never happen? Did it go away with the Monks? Are we still in one, and that’s how the two Doctors meet? Are the Monks gone completely? I get too caught up on small things, but this is bothering the heck out of me.

Lady Me

Even though Maisie Williams hasn’t talked about being in the special, Clara and her TARDIS are. Will the Doctor remember Clara at the last minute, before he regenerates? If he doesn’t, or something doesn’t happen to fix his memory, why would she be there in the first place? I have to hope this means they’ll give the Doctor his memory back to help him through to the next regeneration. Or, maybe Bill will be the one to aid him through.

Missy

I refuse to believe Missy’s dead. I just refuse! There’s no way that we’re going to end Twelve’s era without some sense, some message, or even Missy herself, telling the Doctor that she’s always been there for him. That she’s good and wanted to stand with him until the Master hindered her ability.

If there is any way for Missy to pull  “Not dead. Big Surprise. Moving on.” moment, I’d really like it to be now. Out of everyone in Twelve’s era, I would really love to see Missy, one more time.

Some reason for why the Doctor doesn’t want to regenerate

The Doctor not wanting to regenerate kind of came out of nowhere. To be honest, out of all the Doctors, you would think that Twelve might be ready to move on. So much has happened to him, even if he doesn’t know the full story anymore. It came out of the blue for me, and I don’t know why the Doctor doesn’t like to regenerate, but that’s for another post.

Even with the regular weariness about regenerating, I think we can all assume this came out of nowhere. (Disagree? Feel free to enlightenment in the comments. I am too confused about this)

There are other things I want to see in the Christmas episode, and we’ll get to the wishlist, but these are current issues I would hope to be addressed in the Christmas episode. Will they be? Who knows?
