Gwendoline Christie shines in the trailer for The Last Jedi, and other cast member news

If you somehow haven’t heard yet, a trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped recently. The movie, which is probably the most anticipated movie since the last one, will feature Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie as the formidable Captain Phasma, a high-ranking officer in the tyrannical First Order. It’s a role she also played in Star Wars: The First Awakens back in 2015. You can see in the trailer below around 1:39, sparring with former Stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega).

As in The Force Awakens, Captain Phasma will be covered head to toe in distinctive chrome armor. It’s kind of a thankless role for Christie, since she doesn’t get to show her face, but hey, it’s Star Wars. And you never know: maybe the helmet comes off this time.

The Last Jedi will be released into theaters on December 15. You can get tickets now.

Christie isn’t the only one with a new trailer out. Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) has the starring role in Stealing Silver, about a young woman who develops a kinship with a mysterious old man who lives across the street from her. Have a watch:

It’s a little more mellow than Star Wars.

Notably, Stealing Silver is the first movie made under Daisy Chain Productions, a production company founded by Dom Santry, Bill Milner and Williams herself in early 2016. With this company, the three of them are hoping to spotlight UK-based talent. We’ll see if Stealing Silver gets the enterprise off to a good star upon release.

Finally, Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) made some waves when she posted a freestyle rap to her Instagram. Some context: there’s a trend going around right now where people record and post raps under the hashtags #ForThePussyChallenge and #ForTheDChallenge — basically, they’re rapping about what they would do for sex. The rappers tend to work pretty blue, so beware if you’re at work. But Emmanuel took her entry in another direction, rapping about female empowerment and equality. Behold:

As the comments show, Emmanuel is earning pretty high marks for her verse. Maybe she and fellow cast member/musician Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) could collaborate on something?
