Rumor Vortex: Is Matt Lucas making a Doctor Who return?

Our Doctor Who Rumor Vortex is busy again, this time with a rumor about Nardole!
Earlier this week, we made up a new column called the Rumor Vortex, for any and all fan theories, rumors, and news that isn’t made official…yet!
Not even a couple days later, we couldn’t wait after finding this rumor thanks to Digital Spy. According to the website, Matt Lucas has hinted that Nardole, the companion who got a not-so-thought-out ending in The Doctor Falls might not be his ending after all.
"“I’m not sure my relationship with the show is over,” he hinted, before quickly adding: “But I can’t really go into great detail about that. It remains a big part of my life, let’s put it that way!”"
So basically, Matt Lucas accidentally let the cat out of the bag on something, though we probably won’t know what for some time. As I’ve said, Nardole definitely deserves a better ending than The Doctor Falls gave him. It would be nice to see him on the Christmas Special, but he is the only person that hasn’t been talked about at all for a cameo.
Could he be looked at for a season 12 companion? Some Big Finish audios with various people? If they were to bring in Hazran and River for a box set to show us what happens to him, that would at least give the character the closure.
Who knows, maybe River’s the one to break him out of the Cyberfarm and that’s how she ends up with him. Wibbly-Wobbly’s always a good answer when you don’t know where to go.
