Game of Thrones cast members have been spotted around Belfast as filming on the eighth and final season gets underway…but first, let’s check in with the celebrity ephemera.

In the spirit of Halloween, let Kit Harington recount the time he went to a costume party dressed as Jon Snow, a tale he relaid to Heat Magazine:

"Recently I went to a 30th birthday party and the theme was ‘bad taste.’ I was in Aberdeen, and I left it really late to get a costume. So I went to the one costume shop that was open … and the woman who worked there said, ‘You know, you really look like the guy from ‘Game of Thrones,’ and I’ve got a ‘Game of Thrones’ outfit. And she pulled out a Jon Snow costume, and Rose [Leslie] just whispered in my ear, ‘I won’t love you if you don’t wear it … You should do it.’"

Harington said the ordeal was “really embarrassing.” But if the party theme was “bad taste,” we’d say he nailed it.

Moving on to cast members whose characters have departed, The New York Post reports that Dame Diana Rigg (Olenna Tyrell) will return to the Broadway stage as Mrs. Higgins in a revival of My Fair LadyIt’s Rigg’s first Broadway since 1994, the year when she won a Tony award for her role in Medea.

Performances for My Fair Lady begin in March of 2018. If she brings even a fraction of the sass to that role that she brought to the part of Olenna, the audience had better strap in.

Okay, let’s get to those cast sightings. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain) can kick us off with a new Instagram post of himself wearing the freaky contacts he wears as Cersei’s undead bodyguard. Maybe he could borrow those for Halloween?

Nathalie Emmanuel is apparently on hand in Belfast for the start of filming, although she wasn’t having the best time immediately beforehand:

She may have developed that migraine while attending a boxing match with Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) the night before:

Other cast members have been spotted in the area or heading to the area, including Rupert Vansittart (Lord Yohn Royce)…

…Gwendoline Christie (Brienne) and Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm)…

…and the big guy himself:

Hopefully we’ll get word about what those crazy kids are up to soon.

It begins.
