Emilia Clarke sends good luck message to Strictly Come Dancing contestant as Daenerys Targaryen

Strictly Come Dancing is one of the most popular reality shows in the UK. Basically the British version of Dancing With the Stars (or the other way around, technically), Strictly pairs celebrities with professional dancers for performances. This year, one of the contestants is comedian Susan Calman, who got a very special message ahead of her Game of Thrones-themed performance.

Yep, Daenerys Targaryen herself sent Calman a message of support. And it’s important that this is Daenerys, not Emilia Clarke, sending this message — she’s got her platinum blonde hair, it looks like she’s in her trailer at Titanic Studios in Belfast, and she’s using Daenerys’ trademark severity. Also she calls herself the Mother of Dragons. Predictably, Calman was thrilled.

This isn’t the first time a Game of Thrones cast member has offered a message of support to a reality show contestant — Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) recorded one for Naomi Smalls, a contestant on the eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, a couple years back. And of course the producers put the segments on the show, because why wouldn’t they? Everyone wants a piece of these guys.

Anyway, watch Calman’s routine below. She’s dressed as Daenerys and dancing to “Killer Queen” from Queen. Geddit?

And yes, her dance partner is dressed as Jon Snow. They’re hitting all the bases here. The pair didn’t get great marks, but who cares when you get to start your routine on a giant dragon?
