Liam Cunningham (Davos) assesses various Game of Thrones fan theories

Game of Thrones fans love Game of Thrones fan theories. It only makes sense. Is Winterfell Lightbringer? Is Melisandre a zombie? I dunno, but it’s fun to talk about.

Game of Thrones cast members like them, too. Take Liam Cunningham. As Davos Seaworth, he’s become the grounded, unassuming conscious of the show. And he kind of carries that into the real world. He’s always willing to play along with the press, even if things get silly, as when he played “Fan Theory Exploder” with Rolling Stone. Basically, he just reads through different Game of Thrones fan theories, some more credible than others, and gives his takes on them. Enjoy:

Although this video just came out, it must have been filmed a while back, since Cunningham hadn’t been sent the scripts for season 8 yet. You can rest assured that he’s seen them now.

Otherwise, he makes some good points. Arya IS a serial killer and it probably pays to remember that. As for whether Jon and Dany will end up fighting each other in the “Battle of the Exes” (I fully endorse that name, by the way), he’s as in the dark as any of us, and just as interested to see where it goes. Finally, somehow I doubt that Davos and Tyrion will sail off into the sunset together after all this is over, though.

There’s a bit of a tease for season 8 in there, too, insofar as he says it’s going to take “forever” to shoot. Settle in.

“[Bran] should have just listened to his mum. So should I. Should have stayed an electrician.”
