4 cameos we are hoping will be in Doctor Who’s Twice Upon a Time
BBC
Today we find out the story behind the Twelfth Doctor’s regeneration. But who else might pop up in the Doctor Who special?
TODAY IS THE DAY! Twice Upon a Time is finally here, rumors are swirling more than ever. What can we expect from the episode? What will the 13th Doctor be like? And above all, who is going to have a cameo!?
People have been talking about cameos in the episode since before filming began. Rumors have been consistent about some actors making an appearance, but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from churning out a few. And these names are pretty surprising, to say the least!
We’re going to show you the Top 5 characters that people want a cameo from, as well as some names that have been tossed around on social media. There are no spoilers in this article, just healthy guessing!

Clara Oswald
Of course, Clara Oswald is the first person that people think of when they want someone to come back. Out of everyone who has been with the Twelfth Doctor, she was arguably the most important to him. She was the first face he saw and the way that regenerations seem to go is that the face comes back.
We’ve been toying with the idea since before we even knew the name of the Christmas Special, but of course, bringing Clara back brings back some challenges. First of all, he doesn’t remember her, as we saw in Hell Bent. The Doctor remembers someone named Clara, but can’t put the face with the name…how ironic! And I’m guessing, should she tell him it’s her, it would have disastrous consequences.
Hopefully, if she does show up in the Christmas Special today, then we’ll get some kind of nice resolution with Clara and the Doctor. I just want her to be remembered. BRB while I go cry my TwelveClara heart out.

Nardole
I can’t be the only one that wants this to happen. Since the end of the tenth season, Nardole is in a constant state of limbo. Is he alive? Is he dead? Will he continue to survive the incoming Cyberattacks? Have the Cybermen upgraded enough that it doesn’t matter he’s an android? These questions are plaguing me.
There has been absolutely no official talk about whether or not Nardole will be in the Christmas Special. There was speculation that he might have a cameo in the beginning of the small hiatus, but something that was already filmed.
With even the most critical of Doctor Who fans having a soft spot for Nardole, it seems right that the character comes back. Since he had one of the least satisfying goodbyes in what is probably Doctor Who history, I need some kind of closure. Let’s just hope it’s good closure instead of something bad, like being turned into an android-Cyberman.

Missy
MISSY! How could we not want Missy to return?! Even though this is extremely unlikely, unless she comes back in his imagination, it would be nice to have. Missy has been with the Twelfth Doctor in every season at some point. Arguably, Missy has had a greater impact on the Doctor than any companion during the three seasons.
With that being said, how could we not want her to return? Have her call him a silly sausage for being worried and not wanting to regenerate. Let her help him through his regeneration by telling her that she was always on his side. Let him know he didn’t fail. That would be the best Christmas present for anyone, especially the Doctor/Missy shippers.
The Enchanted Glass people lend the ability for anyone to come back, since they can take people out of their timeline. If we could get Missy to come back before her death, maybe we could have some dialogue that would help put to rest all the Twissy shippers that still aren’t over her death. A win/win for everyone!

The Eleventh Doctor
This is one that I originally would never have thought of, but since the rumors that the Eleventh Doctor might appear in the special, I can’t get it out of my head! This most likely goes hand-in-hand with the rumors that, somehow, the special connects with the 50th Anniversary Special.
Most likely, the train of thought is that the Enchanted Glass creatures could take the Doctor out of his timeline, and put him in the middle of the Time War. This would explain how the 13th Doctor appeared when he wasn’t around yet. I suppose the biggest problem being that there wasn’t supposed to be the twelfth regeneration.
Even though this might take away from the special of the First and the Twelfth Doctor together, it was the Eleventh Doctor who knew he’d be scared right after he changed. What time is scarier than when you’re about to change again?
Could we be expecting a phone call?
