Fans of HBO’s ‘Westworld’ may not know much about Season 2, but neither does the cast.

The cast of HBO’s hit series Westworld is hands down one of the best ensembles on television. Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, and Sir Anthony Hopkins are a revelation; however, they are apparently kept in the dark regarding the show’s direction. We know that the show’s production is secretive, but according to one of the actors on the show, the cast members aren’t given full scripts.

Ben Barnes Reveals He Doesn’t Receive Full Scripts

[Credit: HBO}The amazing Ben Barnes plays the charming, yet villainous character Logan on Westworld, and is currently filming the show’s sophomore season. In an interview with Collider, Ben Barnes was discussing his role in the Netflix’s The Punisher.  Early in the conversation, Barnes was asked which show was more secretive, Westworld or The Punisher? In response to the question, Barnes had this to say about the second season of Westworld:

"“Now I’m involved in the second season of Westworld, which is even more secretive, and I know even less about it this time. I’m not even getting the full scripts, this time. All I know is that it’s absolutely wild!”"

In the past few years, shows have become more secretive regarding new seasons. High profile shows like Game of Thrones have experienced major leaks in the last year alone. In response, the production companies have compartmentalized information. This means giving actors the part of the script that only applies to their character.

This means that Mr. Barnes knows what happens to his character, but he might not know the bigger picture. It’s possible that some actors know more than others, but for the most part, they don’t run the risk of accidentally spoiling anything. Also, any scripts that go missing or stolen only contain a certain amount of information.

It makes sense that Westworld has compartmentalized information, and based on the show’s profile, it’s probably for the best. Fans are dying to know what happens in Season 2, and we can’t wait until the show premieres in Spring 2018.
