Doctor Who: The TARDIS we’ve seen for three seasons is gone
BBC, Doctor Who
Warning: this post may make you cry. It’s okay, we all cried when we watched this.
It’s no secret that with an all-new cast and crew, changes are expected to be made. With Moffat’s era of Doctor Who officially over, it’s time for changes. And even though some of these are good, some, whatever your opinion on Moffat is, will be a tearjerker.
I admit I got into Doctor Who later than most people, mostly since I live in America. I wasn’t watching when the show switched from Russel T. Davies to Steven Moffat, so I don’t know what’s to be expected. Mostly, did I expect to watch a video of Peter Capaldi’s TARDIS being dismantled?
No, no I didn’t. For those who don’t spend every moment on Twitter like I do at Doctor Who Watch’s twitter, if you haven’t seen this, you should. It’s a sped up video watching the complete dismantling of everything we’ve known for three seasons.
For anyone who’s never been on the set of Doctor Who, and I’m guessing that’s everyone, this is actually interesting to watch. I always wondered what the TARDIS set looked like. Even though it’s being taken down, it fills in gaps I only could figure out in my head.
It isn’t surprising that the TARDIS will be completely different with Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor. Or will she even have a TARDIS for the first few episodes? Everything is up in the air as we saw her get pulled out at the end of the episode. Currently, there’s no information about what the new TARDIS console will look like. All we know is that there will be a new TARDIS, so don’t expect the Doctor to be completely Earthbound!
