Reunited at last! Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Owen and Tosh are all back together in new upcoming audio box set, ‘Torchwood: Believe’!

Over the next few months, we’ve got a lot to look forward to with Torchwood on audio. Next month, it’s the finale to Aliens Among Us, the official continuation of the series. In March, the monthly range continues, taking place all over Torchwood’s long history.

In April, there’s one more thing for us Torchwood fans to look forward to, and it’s pretty big. Torchwood: Believe, a new box set featuring the entire original team from series 1 and 2, is released in April. This will be the first time we’ve had a story with the full cast since the episode Exit Wounds, almost ten years ago.

More from Winter is Coming

Here’s what we can expect from the plot:

"The Church of the Outsiders believe that mankind is about to evolve, to reach out into the stars. Owen Harper believes that Torchwood has to do whatever it takes to stop them."

I’m really happy that Owen Harper is involved in this so heavily. It took a long time for Big Finish to bring Burn Gorman back to the role. He wasn’t even able to do tenth-anniversary story The Torchwood Archive, and practically everyone was in that. So it’s great that, now that he is back, they can compensate for that by making him more heavily involved in this story.

A long awaited reunion

It’s also great to read that Guy Adams is writing it. I’ve been noticing just how fantastic his work is more and more. It’s always very character focused, and there’s usually a strong emotional core to his stories. His quote from the announcement sounds very promising.

"It’s been ten years since there’s been an adventure featuring Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Tosh and Owen, and coming up with something big enough – and complex enough – to need them was great fun. After all, taking down an entire religion isn’t easy. But if anyone can do it…"

Producer James Goss gives further details. (Not to mention a better idea of just how difficult it is to get the cast back from their very busy schedules.)

"It’s finally happened – we’ve got all five of Torchwood back together! We couldn’t have done it without their incredible enthusiasm and patience, with them coming to us straight off planes, trains and film sets. They’re all tremendous, and tremendous fun to have in studio."

It should be a joy to hear the original cast back together, finally. Torchwood: Believe is out on CD and download in April from Big Finish’s website.
