Game of Thrones season 7 goes 8-bit, and other funnies

As always, the internet is hard at work making Game of Thrones-themed parodies, videos, and other funny ephemera. It’s almost Friday. Celebrate with laughter.

First up, a fairly new YouTube channel called Cash Sonny has answered one of life’s great questions: What would Game of Thrones season 7 be like if it played out like a classic Pokémon game? Beware puns.

It’s cute. I wouldn’t say no to a second episode.

Next up, YouTube’s own steve continues his completely-out-of-order journey through the show. This week he’s covering the second episode of season 5, “The House of Black and White.” He’s not a fan.

Next up, Philip Barker gives us some insight into the craft of acting on Game of Thrones. And by that I mean: how do the actors’ actual accents differ from the accents they use for their characters?

Did you know that Natalie Portman is in a fancy ad campaign for Christian Dior? Jaime Lannister does:

"What would you do for love? from freefolk"

I have no idea what this is but I’m putting it here:

Okay, apparently it’s a reference to The CW’s Riverdale, a show that is by all accounts off-the-wall ridiculous in every way. Good to know.

Finally, Motels on Mars takes us through years of people reacting to big moments on Game of Thrones, which is almost as good as better as years of actually watching big moments on Game of Thrones.

I can never quite tell how much of these reactions are manufactured. But they’re enjoying themselves, and isn’t that the truth that matters?
