Have you ever what the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary would have been like with Christopher Eccleston? Now you can know, thanks to charity.

One of the biggest scandals of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary was whether or not Christopher Eccleston would be returning. We know that there was a version of the 50th special script which included the ninth doctor. No one’s seen that script, but soon, thanks to Steven Moffat and charity, it will be made available to the winner of an auction.

In this version, instead of John Hurt’s War Doctor coming along, the Ninth Doctor, in all his sass and wonderful nine-ness would have been part of the anniversary. This is something that fans wanted, and showrunner Steven Moffat wanted as well.

As we all know, Christopher Eccleston decided to step out of the Anniversary, making way for John Hurt’s War Doctor. When the script was changed, the original was hidden within the depths of a messy TARDIS — or writers desk.

But now, as part of a special charity, Whovians will be able to see just what the ninth doctor would have done had he met his future selves and saved Gallifrey. The script is now in a book A Second Target for TommyThe book will also contain short Doctor Who stories from other different actors. However, this is for a limited time. You can currently buy the paperback at the above link, or, if e-books are more your way to read, you can pick that up here. But even the ebook has a limited amount of paperback copies.

Since it’s for charity, and the book is a relatively good price for such a collector’s piece of work, I would urge anyone to buy it rather than waiting for excerpts to be released online. If you have the money, you’ll help a good cause and get yourself a bit of history. What a way to spend £10-15!
