Celebrate Valentine’s Day with “romantic” Game of Thrones videos

Love is hard to come by in Westeros. Unless your name is Sam or Gilly, odds are that your relationship (or would-be relationship) will one day end in betrayal, heartbreak, and/or death. Just ask Khal Drogo, Ygritte, Sansa Stark, Robert Baratheon, Renly Baratheon, Shae, Ellaria Sand, Littlefinger, etc…

And that’s all without bringing up Jorah Mormont.

So characters have to grab love where they can find it. At the moment, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are riding a wave that could lead to a forever romance (“Jonerys is endgame,” as the kids say) or crash and burn in spectacular fashion. Whatever happens, the two have a lot in common, as YouTuber Mikhoffee Time demonstrates in this video:

For reference, the song that plays over this edit is “Truth,” which is currently running away with the vote on our “Best Musical Track of Season 7” poll, and with good reason.

There’s more Valentine’s Day ephemera floating around out there on the net. Below, Pandering to Karma Productions made a Game of Thrones fan film that adapts the moment from A Clash of Kings where Sandor “the Hound” Clegane tries to get Sansa Stark to join him in fleeing King’s Landing. We got a version of this scene in season 2’s “Blackwater,” but it was very different from what happened in the book. Enjoy:

Here’s the TV version, for comparison:

Anyway, this scene is far from traditionally romantic, but again, this is Game of Thrones, so we have to take what we can get.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
