Titan Comics announced big news today that is only fitting following the Thirteenth Doctor.
According to Nerdist, the Doctor Who comics featuring the Thirteenth Doctor should come out around the time of the season eleven premiere. The big news isn’t when they’re coming out, but who will be behind making them. And following the reveal of a female doctor is the reveal of an entire female creative team at Titan Comics to create the well-known series. These women will be in charge of continuing the creativity for Doctor Who comics featuring the thirteenth Doctor.
The comics will be written by a crew of female writers. Jody Houser, who wrote part of the Orphan Black comics as well as Star Wars: Rogue One adaptations will be heading the project. The art will be done by Rachel Stott, who has worked on many Doctor Who comics. Finally, the colorist will be Enrica Angliolini, who worked on other titles in the Titan Comics.
Even though we have no reveal date, this certainly goes along with the feeling of a change in the BBC behind the scenes. Even though Titan Comics has been the main comic book owner of Doctor Who comics, this is still a great change from the normal team behind the comic books. The representation of women in any world can be higher, and the fact that Titan Comics is joining in on this revolution is a great thing to celebrate.

The only thing we truly know about these comics is that the people who have been announced besides the Thirteenth Doctor, including Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole will all have some kind of role. And, if Titan Comics continues their crossovers like they seem to love to do, we could have older Doctors meeting the first female Doctor before it happens on television!
