Olympic figure skater performs tribute to Jaime Lannister

The finest athletes in the world have gathered in Pyeongchang, South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. The culmination of years of practice and ambition, the Olympics serve as the highest test of an athlete’s skills. One man, Germany’s Paul Fentz, chose the platform as his chance to display his love for Game of Thrones. Oh, and figure skating. Watch below.

Skating this past Friday, Fentz performed a skate dedicated to Thrones’ own Jaime Lannister. Donning a Lannister inspired outfit, Fentz skated to music from the season 7 soundtrack by Ramin Djawadi. He approved, naturally.

The real Jaime Lannister — by which I mean the actor who plays him on TV — also appreciated the performance.

Fentz’s garb focused on the details — he wore one glove, with a splash of red around the wrist to represent the loss of Jaime’s sword hand. It’s the little things.

And although Fentz did not manage to take home the gold, he previously won the top prize at the German Figure Skating Championships, held this past December. House Lannister approves. You can watch Fentz’s performance at that event below.

Fentz might not have been successful at the Olympics, but we salute his love of Game of Thrones. And Fentz still did better than anyone from Westeros  probably would have.
