HBO partners with ReedPOP to make new line of Game of Thrones merchandise

Brace yourselves, Game of Thrones fans: HBO is partnering with boutique group ReedPOP to deliver an assortment of new Game of Thrones merchandise. To start, we’ll be getting “apparel, bags, barware, pins, keychains, and much more.”

Reed Exhibitions is an event organization company, and this new merch will be available to fans at events, specifically conventions. The new line debuts tomorrow at the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, WA, with additional products on display at other events throughout the year, including the New York Comic Con in October. HBO vice president of licensing and retail Jeff Peters is fully on board:

"Comic Con attendees are some of the most passionate fans in the world, and we are excited to join forces with ReedPOP to offer them unique, exclusive Game of Thrones products. We’ll be kicking the partnership off with an impressive lineup of items at ECCC, but this is just the beginning. Fans can expect to see more awesome items at ReedPOP events around the globe."

ReedPOP senior vice president Lance Fensterman is excited as well. “Game of Thrones is a global phenomenon that our fans can never get enough of,” he said. “Both the programming and talent have historically been a huge hit with fans at our shows, so creating this crossover to provide an exclusive collection of merchandise was a no-brainer.”

Game of Thrones merch is sold everywhere, and no matter the venue, it’s pretty much always a sure bet, as it should be. If new apparel is in the offing from ReedPOP, can we suggest a shirt modeled after the rock star pirate look Euron Greyjoy wore in season 7? Surely there’s a market for that somewhere.

Hopefully we’ll also be able to get a look at some of these new products outside of the convention environment — keep an eye on the HBO Shop for that. And although ReedPOP has nothing to do with Funko Pop, can we put in another request for a red-headed Sansa Funko figure?

It’s time.
