After nearly half a year of construction, the huge King’s Landing set at Titanic Studios in Belfast is almost complete. Yet more photos have surfaced, this time courtesy of Jeff McCrory and Oakleaf Photography on Twitter. Let’s see what we can see.
These pics show just how far the set has come from its humble beginnings, when it was a collection of scaffolding and a wall. Below, you can see some of the less ostentatious buildings — these will assumedly be on either side of the street they’ve built.
A guard house or garrison for the Gold Cloaks who man the city’s walls, perhaps? as this shot from Oakleaf Photography shows, the row of ancillary buildings is quite extensive:
The main feature of the set are two towers to either side of a gate. Here’s an interesting new angle on those:
That reddish arch between the two towers is interesting, and fairly new. Here’s a head-on look at it:
The new section was installed after the production had already built a nasty-looking breach in the wall. Here’s what the wall looked like before the arch was installed…
…and here’s what it looks like after:
So the production has basically built two versions of this wall: one with an intact gate and one in ruins. We’re betting they film the version with the gate first, then take away the red arch and film the breach. How will this stone wall go from standing tall to a pile of rubble? We have some ideas.
The King’s Landing set can’t help but draw attention, but it’s not the only set in the mix. GoTlike Locations has shared a new photo of the Riverrun set at Linen Mill Studios in Corbet-Banbridge, Northern Ireland.

There’s nothing happening on the set at the moment, but it’s still standing, so you figure HBO must be planning to use it for something.
