You know Alexa, right? It’s a voice recognition program from Amazon, billed as a virtual personal assistant. It’s commonly embodied in Amazon’s Echo Dot, although you can now download it for your phone through the Amazon app, as well. You can have it to play music, make to-do lists, ask it for information, make it play audiobooks and podcasts, order pizza, have deep and meaningful conversations about life and living, etc. Stuff like this:
You can also ask Alexa for “flash briefings,” which basically means asking it to read you the news. And now, you can enable Alexa to provide you with Game of Thrones-themed flash briefings, with reports provided by Winter is Coming, naturally. Simply head to Amazon’s website, click “Enable,” put in your information, and WiC will be included in your flash briefings. “Alexa, read me my flash briefings,” you’ll say, and then Alexa will read out the latest Game of Thrones news in her mellifluous voice. And then you can ask Alexa to repeat dirty words or something, cause that’s usually pretty funny.
Just be sure to take advantage of this before Alexa becomes self-aware and ushers in a new age of robotic dominance. None of this will seem as fun after that.
