Doctor Who Watch Madness: Is the Tenth Doctor better than The Master?

After weeks of voting, the time has come to determine the winner of the Doctor Who Watch Madness tournament!

This March, we here at Doctor Who Watch rounded up some of the greatest Doctor Who characters, past and present, to launch a March Madness style tournament. With 32 characters selected at random, our bracket came together setting the stage for an epic battle between villains, companions and Doctors!

As the rounds progressed, competitors quickly were eliminated as fans rallied behind their favorite characters via polls on social media. After weeks of competition, it all came down to one final battle in which the Tenth Doctor went head to head with The Master in a showdown for the ages.

What first appeared to a tight battle, soon turned into a blowout as David Tennant’s beloved Doctor raced past The Master to easily become the first every DWW Madness Champion!

In total, the Tenth Doctor managed to defeat The Master with a victory margin of 87 percent – which turned out to be one of our largest victory margins throughout the entire tournament.

Given Tennant’s popularity, it’s unsurprising to see the beloved Doctor crowned Champion and we couldn’t think of a more suitable victor.

Final Bracket

After five rounds of competition, the first ever DWW Madness tournament has finally come to its conclusion and our bracket is now complete! For one last time, join us in taking a look at how things stand following the latest (and final) round of competition:

A Special Thanks

A special thanks goes out to every fan who took the time to vote in the first annual DWW Madness tournament via the DWW Facebook and Twitter pages! We couldn’t have crowned a champion without each and every Whovian who took the time to vote for their favorite companion, villain and Doctor and look forward to continuing the fun next year!

For now, we leave you with one final question: Do you believe the right character was crowned champion? Keep the conversation going in the comments section below.
