James Cosmo (Lord Commander Mormont) coming to Con of Thrones

Con of Thrones, the second annual installment of the world’s biggest Game of Thrones convention, is less than two months away, and it is staffing up. Hot on the heels of the announcement that longtime Game of Thrones weapons master Tommy Dunne will be in attendance, Mischief Management has now revealed that James Cosmo (Lord Commander Jeor Mormont) will be on hand as well, signing autographs, talking about his experience, and choking scrubs against the wall even as he bleeds to death.

Well, probably not that last one. But wouldn’t that make a great photo op?

And remember: Cosmo has had a long, interesting career outside of Game of Thrones, as well, appearing in stuff like Braveheart, Trainspotting, Emma, Babe: Pig in the City, Troy, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Wonder Woman, and many more.

In addition to Cosmo and Dunne, the convention will also spotlight current and former cast members like Hannah Murray (Gilly), Sibel Kekilli (Shae), Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel), Esmé Bianco (Ros), Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn), Sam Coleman (Young Hodor), and Aimee Richardson (Myrcella Baratheon 1.0). And there’s still plenty of time between now and May 25, when the three-day con kicks off at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we get more guest announcements in the coming weeks.
