An Idaho subdivision has streets named after Game of Thrones characters, and other funnies
Have you ever wanted to live on a street named after your favorite Game of Thrones character? I know I have. Well, B&A Engineers employee Jennell Hall must think along those lines, because when she was designing a subdivision in Boise, Idaho, she named a pair of streets after Rickon Stark on the one hand and the entire Baratheon family on the other.
As you can see from the map, new homeowners will be able to choose to live on South Baratheon Avenue or West Rickon Street. Although we really think W. Rickon St. should have run in a zig-zag pattern.
“On that subdivision my supervisor just let me go wild, so I did,” Hall told Boise Dev. “He now usually gives me a theme to follow… but I’ll still sneak in a geeky one here or there.” The other two streets — W. Malcolm Way and South Inara Avenue — prove the truth of that. They’re both references to Firefly, one of the greatest shows of all time. If you don’t agree, you’re wrong. And Hall plans on naming more streets after Game of Thrones characters, including Sansa, Arya, Greyjoy and Tyrion. Unfortunately, Stark, Tarth and Samwell were all rejected by the Boise planning commission. Apparently Stark rhymes too closely with another street in the city — Clark. What in the world does Samwell rhyme with?
Moving on, YouTube funny guy steve is back to trying and understand random episodes of Game of Thrones watched entirely out of order. First up is a breakdown of “The Old Gods and the New,” wherein steve praises the angry mob for throwing poop at Joffrey’s face…
…and then “The Kingsroad,” wherein we find out how joining the Night’s Watch is like going to grad school…
…and “Two Swords,” wherein steve is as delighted at the sight of the Hound and Arya teaming up to kill people as we all were back in 2014. He missed an opportunity to make some chicken jokes, though.
Finally, here’s something more niche. Did anybody here watch the most recent season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, the show where drag queens compete to see who’s the best drag queen? Because if you did, you know that fan favorite Shangela (Editor’s note: She was ROBBED) would not stop making Game of Thrones references, to the point where the internet spliced her rants together with scenes from the show:
Even Game of Thrones cast member and Drag Race superfan Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) was in Shangela’s corner. (Editor’s note: Yeah, because she was ROBBED!)
Anyway, the memes gained enough traction for Gay Times to ask Shangela who she would play if she could score a cameo on the show. “Well, if I could get my blonde wig out, I’ll be Daenerys’ long lost sister, okay? I’m another sister, I’m a Targaryen, I’ll have my own dragons, okay? I’m gonna show up with four dragons! I would love that.”
