At the moment, Avengers: Infinity War is the biggest movie on the planet, and it may become the biggest in history. We’re known for a while that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) would appear — you can see his name buried at the bottom of the poster below — but his exact role remained a mystery right up until the film’s release.
When Dinklage did finally appear, it left many fans chuckling; he played Eitri the Dwarf King, the man who created Thor’s magic hammer Mjolnir. He’s also enormous, towering over even the 6’3” Chris Hemsworth. Fans didn’t fail to notice the irony:
Green screen. That’s all we’ve got.
Perhaps our favorite.
We see what they did there.
From an SNL skit in a good way or a bad way?
We ask again.
(Editor’s note: When I went to see the movie, select pockets of the theater burst into giggles when Dinklage appear. People definitely recognized him, although I like to think they all knew he played Tyrion.)
We didn’t even notice that.
Name the reference.
If the Hulk couldn’t hurt Thanos, we’re guessing Drogon couldn’t either. But we like the thought.
And we have a winner…
