26) PEDRO PASCAL

The Chilean-born Pedro Pascal stole many hearts as the dashing, oversexed Oberyn Martell, and his character’s violent death proved one of the most stunning moments in Game of Thrones history. Don’t feel too bad for Pascal, however. As he tells Interview magazine, shooting his final scene was a blast:

"There wasn’t any part of it that was somber. Everyone thought it was hilarious that my head was being smushed like a watermelon. Everyone was so fascinated by the special effects of it. We had a lot of fun. It was me clowning around with a guy who was seven feet tall and 200 pounds in this beautiful location in Dubrovnik."

Pascal’s career has taken off since his turn as Oberyn. He’s appeared in major films like The Great Wall (2016, above, also starring Thrones costar Pilau Asbaeck), Kingman: the Golden Circle (2017) and in TV shows like The Mentalist (2014) and Narcos (2015-17).

Before Thrones, Pascal had a long credit of blink-or-you-might-miss-him roles on TV, including stints as a fresh-faced kid on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1999, above), Touched by an Angel (2000), NYPD Blue (2001), Law and Order (2008) and Nurse Jackie (2010).

What’s coming up for the now in-demand Pascal? He’s slated to appear in The Equalizer 2 (2018), If Beale Street Could Talk (2018) and Triple Frontier (2019).
