54) SIMON ARMSTRONG

Qhorin Halfhand is a legendary ranger of the Night’s Watch, a man who lost most of the fingers on his right hand in a fight with a wildling and was once a good friend of Mance Rayder. On Game of Thrones, Qhorin is portrayed with appropriate gruffness and grit by the Welsh actor Simon Armstrong.

Armstrong does a lot of theater (such as Uncle Vanya at the Old Vic), but his TV work includes roles on The Sherman Plays (1996), Casualty (1998-2000), Midsomer Murders (2005), Holby City (2009), Crash (2009), Da Vinci’s Demons (2013), Coronation Street (2013) and Doctors (2005-2016).

Armstrong has also appeared in plenty of movies, such as Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman (2005), Made in Dagenham (2010), Killer Elite (2011), Resistance (2011), Black Out (2012, below), King Arthur: Excalibur Rising (2017, above) and Crowhurst (2017).

Armstrong can be seen in the feature film Remi sans Famille in 2018.
