We’re only two episodes into Westworld season 2, but HBO has announced that it’s renewed the show for a third go-round. HBO programming president Casey Bloys released a statement on Tuesday:

"It’s been an extraordinary pleasure to work with the exceptionally talented Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, as well as their gifted cast and crew. From the inspired storytelling to the incredible visuals, we are so excited to see where the next chapter will take us."

Westworld is billed as a “dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the birth of a new form of life on Earth,” and was created by the husband and wife team of Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who also executive produce alongside Star Wars director J.J. Abrams. Based on the film of the same name by Michael Crichton, Westworld debuted in 2016, becoming HBO’s “most-watched freshman series ever,” and was nominated for 22 Emmy Awards, winning five.

That first season explored several interweaving plots set across multiple timelines, guided by an ensemble cast that included Anthony Hopkins (Dr. Robert Ford), Jeffrey Wright (Arnold, Bernard), Ed Harris (the Man in Black), Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores Abernathy), Thandie Newton (Maeve Millay), James Marsden (Teddy Flood) and Jimmi Simpson (William).

The season 2 premiere picked up roughly 11 days after the robotic uprising led by Dolores at the end of season 1. So far, we’ve been introduced to new characters like Delos security chief Karl Strand (Gustaf Skarsgård) and the founder of the company, James Delos (Peter Mullan). This season also promises to reveal other parks like Westworld, like Shogun World.

Westworld season 2 marches on this Sunday with episode 203, “Virtù e Fortuna.”
