Season 8 filming: New photos from the King’s Landing set show extensive fire damage

We’ve got a small filming update for you today, straight from the massive King’s Landing set in Belfast. Light SPOILERS follow.
Over the past week, we’ve watched as the crew has made some big changes to this set. It wasn’t too long ago that the two stone towers to either side of the city gate looked like this:
But by late last week, they looked like this:
Ouch.
We have a few new pics today, courtesy of the ever-vigilant A Red Priestess. Below, you can see that the crew has gussied up the towers to make it look like they’ve undergone extensive fire damage:
So clearly King’s Landing will be under heavy attack in season 8. That’s no surprise. It’s not hard to guess what could do that to stone towers, either: it’s gotta be dragons. As ever, the question is whether they’re alive or dead.
Through it all, red Lannister banners are still hanging from the Red Keep, or at least from the one wall they built. You hang in there, Cersei…
You’ve gotta wonder who/what they’re filming on the street below, no? Now that shooting has wrapped up in Seville, we can expect more activity on this set.
