Watch the trailer for “Phase Space,” the sixth episode of Westworld season 2
By Dan Selcke
We’ve now halfway through the second season of Westworld, the show where humanity was so busy wondering if it could it didn’t stop to wonder if it should. On tonight’s episode, Maeve (Thandie Newton) and her crew got a tour of Shogun World. By the look of the trailer for the next episode, “Phase Space,” we’ll pick up the threads of that and other stories next week. Check it out:
As a preliminary note, it looks like Maeve and company survive their run-in with the Shogun’s army at the end of “Akane no Mai.” I mean, that was never really in question, but the trailer leaves it with no doubt. Maeve is blood-splattered but very much alive.
Elsewhere, Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson) and humans take some ground back from the marauding hosts, Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) gets the train to the Mesa working, and Teddy (James Marsden) is…still around after whatever Dolores did to him in the last episode. And there’s still no sign of the Man in Black (Ed Harris).
But mainly, it looks like the episode will revolve around Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) and his attempt to pull back the curtain on just what Delos is doing with Westworld, with help from Delos programmer Elsie Hughes (Shannon Woodward). Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are going all in on an extended mystery plotline. Will it be worth the watching?
