There’s really not much more to this story. For some reason, at some point, Star Wars creator George Lucas visited the set of Game of Thrones season 8. Was he there to guest direct an episode? Was he dropping by on his day off? Was he lost? No idea.

This tidbit comes courtesy of Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), who’s been doing approximately 30 interviews per day during the lead-up to the world premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story. She plays Qi’ra, a childhood friend of Han Solo’s. While chatting to the Associated Press alongside Solo costar Paul Bettany, she mentioned that Lucas visited the set of Solo, which makes sense, and that he visited the set of Thrones shortly thereafter, which makes less sense:

“I momentarily forgot how to act, say my name, function as a normal human being,” she said of the Solo set visit. “And then it was quite funny, cause I went back to shooting Game of Thrones quite quickly after finishing this, and he paid us a visit there, as well, so that was kind of interesting…’Remember me? Do you? Terrible acting? You might have forgotten.'”

During the Solo set visit, Lucas actually gave a note to director Ron Howard about a romantic scene between Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and Qi’ra. In this scene, the two characters are in Lando Calrissian’s cape closet, and Han chooses to hang up Qi’ra’s coat before getting down to business. “[Lucas] said, ‘You know, Han wouldn’t bother to hang it up,’” Howard told Variety. “And then he sort of did it. George became Han Solo for a second. The body language was there and the attitude. Not only was it a nice accent on the scene, but it was also a reminder that George created this character and really understood him. He was so reluctant [to offer his opinion], and yet the choice was so right that it was fun to use it.”

We doubt that Lucas weighed in on any Thrones scenes, but you never know. Also, let’s not forget that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have been tapped to produce a new series of Star Wars movies after they’re finished with Thrones, so they may already know Lucas.
