This week’s Westworld trailer for episode 7 confirms there will most definitely be ‘violent ends’ as Dolores edges forward on her rescue mission of her father in Delos. We now know she has now breached the installation and it doesn’t look like she is backing down.

Spoilers ahead! If you are not caught up on season two, please do not read ahead!

Maeve is in the Westworld park and will meet the MiB, who has managed to avoid any contact with Maeve or Dolores up until now, so it is only a matter of time that they cross paths. It will be a very precarious time for William, though it is hard to muster any sympathy for him. I wonder if his daughter will save him, just like in the last episode?

It is hard to think that a few robots are about to cause major disruption in Delos, considering the strike teams spent the week clearing up, but there are also many decommissioned hosts missing, and it will be interesting to see if there is a small army of hosts that is big enough to overrun Delos.

Bernard is also going to have a revelation, as he tries to make sense of everything inside the CR4-DL, and I am wondering if Ford could manipulate or even trap Bernard inside it, considering he has been inside it for a while and knows how to control everything.  Bernard is totally vulnerable as he is unprotected, but perhaps being trapped in the CR4-DL may not be such a terrible thing after having a hole bored into his current host’s body’s head.

I have this niggling feeling we will see the re-emergence of Arnold, and anyone who thinks he died, should be reviewing their options right now after seeing the CR4-DL in the previous episode.

If you re-read the quote about Arnold by Ford, it says:

"“He died, here in the park. His personal life was marked by tragedy. He put all his hopes into his work…his search for consciousness consumed him totally: barely spoke to anyone, except to the hosts. In his alienation, he saw something in them. He saw something that wasn’t there. We called it an accident, but I knew Arnold and he was very, very careful.”"

Something tells me he didn’t die in the park and is very much alive, as he was totally consumed by his work, he had a close connection with the hosts and was ‘very careful’. I believe he faked his death and hid in the park or died after having his soul extracted and uploaded into the CR4-DL just like Ford.

Could it be that there will be an epic battle of minds and machines between Arnold and Ford?

The CR4-DL itself is a very interesting setup and could be more than just a host data storage location. Elsie alluded to the fact that there are ‘hundreds of thousands of brains’ in the CR4-DL, and I do not think she is referring to host data.

This is because there are only a few thousand hosts in Delos, and could mean she is aware of a sinister program to trap human souls into the CR4-DL. Maybe this was the real reason for Delos Incorporated, and the park was just a front.

What we do know for sure, is that episode 7 is set to be an action-packed episode with lots of gunfights and destruction, so don’t miss it.

This week there was also some additional activity worth noting to ‘bring yourself back online’…

HBO Westworld released an exclusive video that expands on the significance of the CR4-DL, and it reveals lots of useful nuggets of information about the pearls, the set design, with Jonah Nola, Lisa Joy, the cast, and crew.

Fans of Felix and Sylvester had the rare treat of a live tweet session with actors Leonardo Nam and Ptolemy Slocom this week and it was good fun to see actors providing the time to do this type of reach out.

Gina Atwater discusses her favorite characters and provides a glimpse of what life is like behind the scenes as a writer for Westworld.

Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy discuss the books that inspired them, citing examples of where they appeared in the show–and there is a pretty diverse range of books.
