Will Maeve and her daughter survive?

A lot of our favorite characters brought the ultimate and literal bullet in this episode including Clementine, Angela, and Lawrence. Maeve gets shot multiple times and ends up back at The Mesa on a stainless steel gurney thanks to scaredy-cat Sizemore.

More from Westworld

It’s not pretty. Even Dolores was sad to see Maeve in such a weakened physical state. I was incredibly upset to see her like that especially after she became Super Maeve. Who will repair her? Where is Felix? And what will Ghost Nation do with Maeve’s daughter?

When they show up at Maeve’s original narrative house, Zahn McClarnon’s Ghost Nation character tells her they are on the same path. What is that path? Ghost Nation looks very serene and beautiful from the episode 8 preview. Could it be a safe place for Maeve’s daughter?

Seriously what up Charlotte?

Will Dolores get to truly take revenge upon Charlotte? I really hope so. Frankly, I was rather disappointed that Charlotte escaped harm’s way yet AGAIN. If she was a cooking pan, she would be non-stick. She always finds a way to slither out. Although, Dolores has her dad’s brain and all the precious park data.

Will Peter Abernathy’s brain end up in another host’s body? We have to see him take revenge and quote even more badass lines from Shakespeare! The touching goodbye scene with him and Dolores was so darn emotional and sad.

I am glad the showrunners chose not to show Dolores sawing open her dad’s skull and retrieving his “brain.” It was way more powerful insinuating it. But again, why have we not seen Dolores’ mom, Mrs. Abernathy? Perhaps in the next season, this will be explored. Parent relationships are such a big deal in this show second only to NBC’s This Is Us.

How badass was Angela?!

In her scene in The Cradle, host Angela, played by Talulah Riley, is incredibly compelling. She finally exchanged her Stevie Nicks reckoning outfit for a Delos security one. Then, after she is fatally wounded, another change. She is standing in a huge puddle of her own blood looking very Barbarella.

Perfect hair. Perfect makeup. Perfect everything. Her cunning ways are still very much alive. She knows her mission. The phrase “Welcome to Westworld” will never be the same after that. A lot of viewers didn’t believe this scene, but I loved it.

But the question is, did Dolores find a way to do a secret off-Cradle back up of her as well as Clementine before the Cradle is destroyed? I hope so. They are both compelling characters, great actresses, and I want to see them continue their journey into season 3.

Will the MIB survive?

Even though Maeve and Lawrence got some decent shots at William, he’s still alive and breathing. Is he wearing a bullet proof vest? Will he be reunited with Emily? Will she save him? This would seem like a very predictable course of action.

But if Westworld teaches us anything is to expect the unexpected. Still not sure what Emily’s agenda is. Will she finish him off for good instead? Is the daddy-daughter dance gonna be called off?

I’m happy that Lawrence finally snapped out of his habitual loyalty to the Man in Black. He finally remembers the personal atrocities bestowed upon him by the MIB. Thank you, Maeve for giving Lawrence the “coming to Jesus” talk!

What is in the Valley Beyond?

Is it the San Gabriel Valley? Is it Hidden Valley Ranch? Is it the Valley of the Kings? Most likely, it is the mainland. Will Bernard survive long enough to find Dolores and her dad’s data? Will he have someone sabotage Delos’ quest in favor of the hosts? Does the mainland have any idea of the host reckoning and the massive number of human casualties?

Delos probably has a top-notch P.R. department so I doubt anything has leaked yet. Will Delos manage to keep this secret even if hosts infiltrate the mainland and continue their reckoning?

Let’s see what happens in episode 8! Watch Westworld season 2, episode 8 ‘Kiksuya’, Sunday night at 9 pm EST on HBO!
