Game of Thrones meets Final Fantasy, Parks and Recreation, and other funny stuff
By Dan Selcke
It’s Friday. Let’s enjoy some Game of Thrones-themed funnies, bits of esoterica, and baffling what have you, starting…now.
At the risk of exposing my age, I’m a big fan of old school Japanese RPGs like Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and the early Final Fantasy games. So this mashup of Final Fantasy VI and the prologue from A Game of Thrones ticks a lot of boxes for me:
Admittedly, the dialogue here is a lot better than it was in those early RPGs. Thanks to The Cartoon Show for making this happen. More, please?
Next, YouTube’s own steve continues to watch every episode of Game of Thrones completely out of order. This week, he takes in “Fire and Blood,” the final episode of the first season. It’s a big one. Let’s go on the journey:
We get a new name for the first time in a while: Yoren of the Night’s Watch is “bird’s nest head.” At this point, steve has watched over half of the episodes, and is openly wondering whether he should continue. After all, he’s seen too much to be confused anymore. What do you think?
Who out there loves Parks and Recreation, other than the fan who created this mashup for a sitcom all about the Night’s Watch?

Opening with Olly swinging at the gallows…grim.
Finally, this isn’t really a funny thing, but these two cosplayers are going the extra mile for their hobby:

That will be all.
