Doctor Who: Lethbridge-Stewart novels for free this weekend on kindle!

For several years now, the popular character Lethbridge-Stewart has had his own series of novels. Now, this weekend, several novels are available for free!

We’ve just learned from Doctor Who News that several books from the Lethbridge-Stewart series of novels are free on kindle this weekend!

Here’s a quote from the official announcement:

"With the success of the Doctor Who marathon on Twitch, many news fans are being introduced to 1960s Doctor Who for the first time, and with it, the Brigadier, Anne Travers and the Great Intelligence. This definitely sounds exciting! I’ve been curious about checking out the Lethbridge-Stewart series for a while now. After all, Lethbridge-Stewart has always been a great character, and it’d be fantastic to learn more about him. But with so much material in the Doctor Who universe to check out, it’s difficult to know where to begin.

So it’s great that, from the huge collection of novels so far (seriously, just type “Lethbridge-Stewart” on Amazon and see what comes up), we’re getting a small selection of stories for free!

It’s also interesting seeing the success that the Twitch marathon has had so far! Since all of these feature not just the Brigadier but also the Great Intelligence, it seems to be a reaction to Tuesday’s broadcast of The Web of Fear. (Sadly, because it wasn’t listed, I didn’t get to cover it properly until Wednesday.) So can we expect more offers like this for other Doctor Who merchandise soon?

After The Web of Fear, Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart eventually became a Brigadier by the time we saw him again in The Invasion. But what happened in the long gap between those stories?
