In recent news regarding Westworld, it was announced that HBO will not be in attendance at this year’s Comic-Con 2018 in San Diego, which is a blow to organizers and fans alike.
The studio’s absence is due to production days and airing schedules. Kilter Films and HBO signed a deal for the third season of Westworld so stars are unable to attend, and there will not be a discussion panel for either show this year in Hall H. Marvel also announced it will not be attending.
Fans who were hoping to interact with the show’s cast will no doubt be very dismayed at the news, and this might be the same case next year as well.
It is normal to skip attendances if there is no major advance, and it is better to for fans to wait than have little to discuss at these types of events.
Although unrelated, there was an incident recently where a Westworld panel was shut down, due to a fan taking mic time to try to promote their own script under the guise of a question, and this type of action can ruin an event only makes things worse. So, when they finally do return, behave! You can read all about the incident at the link here.
