Westworld-like underground high-speed shuttle network being built by Elon Musk!

In the Westworld series, we see the Delos Incorporated train that shuttles people from the real world into Westworld. It is a high-speed transit line, built to transport guests and personnel – as well as sneaking hosts in and out of Westworld!

Although the train was very futuristic, there are plans to create a high-speed underground tunnel system and it is not happening in the future, but right now!

However, in a page straight out of the future, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel just agreed to allow Elon Musk’s venture, The Boring Company, to build a high-speed line with its own autonomous electric shuttle pods, based around the Model X.

More from Winter is Coming

Using the moniker ‘The X Line’, the service will ferry people from O’Hare International Airport to the center of Chicago in just 12 minutes! The Tesla Pods will be able to hold a capacity of up to 16 passengers at a time.

Potentially costing around $25 for the journey, it will travel at a speed of 150 mph. The project is “very likely” to take at least three years according to Elon, and once open, will enable users to avoid traffic jams and congestion while reaching a central location within the city in a matter of minutes. It should be a very comfortable ride indeed.

This may lead to a new subterranean transit system that could shuttle people across the country and cut a 6 hour journey time into an hour and would become much cheaper as more users take advantage of the service. He has also won contracts in other states to start similar projects.

Elon is literally driving the clean car revolution and is also very close to A.I. and technology, from his sleek self-driving Tesla battery cars and power storage, down to solar technology.

He also owns a company that is trying to develop an ‘ultra high-bandwidth brain-machine interface to connect humans to computers, which might eventually become a way to connect a human directly into a VR immersive world, just like the Delos Incorporated hosts did in the CR4D-DL.

Elon often warns of an existential threat that might be brought on by Artificial Intelligence, similar to the out-of-control sentient A.I. robot hosts in Westworld! He was also a founding member of Open A.I. so has a handle on where AI is heading.

It is very exciting to see all these technological advancements like super-fast transportation, and A.I. robots, as we make our journey along the path of technology. This is now opening a doorway into a new world, and it is quite amazing to see a not too distant future filled with robots and space-age technological breakthroughs–which mimic what we see in science fiction shows like Westworld.

The future is now, bring yourself back online!
