In this episode, we go over Jon VII from A Game of Thrones, aka “Jon Fight a Zombie.” It’s an intense, vividly written chapter that gets us pretty excited. Join our discussion!

• This is our first encounter with a wight since the prologue, and George R.R. Martin goes all in on the gruesome imagery. How does Martin distinguish his zombies from others in literature and movies?
• Martin plays with Jon’s idea of himself. Is he as grizzled and hardbitten as he thinks he is?
• Jon Snow grapples with the news that Ned Stark, who he believes to be his father, has “committed treason” down in King’s Landing. It’s complicated for him, more so because he doesn’t have all the information. How does he deal with it? Does he make mistakes?
