HBO Nordic posts new Game of Thrones art

We’re still a year away from the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, but we may now have a poster…or key art…or just art…or something someone at HBO threw up just because. What I’m trying to say is that HBO affiliate HBO Nordic has shared this art to its Facebook page, and while it shouldn’t be taken as the official poster, it’s the closest thing we have yet:

“Next year we will find out who will prevail in the great white walker war,” says the caption, if Google Translate can be believed.

The image itself is quite cool, which indicates it was done by someone who knew what they were doing. For example, take a look at the dragon on the right side of the image; its neck and face comprise Jon Snow’s right eye and eyebrow, and its wing forms part of his hairline. The Night King (played in this poster by Richard Brake from season 5, not by Vladimir Furdik, who took over starting in season 6) dominates the right side of the image, with his army of the dead scattered throughout. Look closely at Jon’s lips and mustache and you can see they’re made up on little dead people! You’ve got to appreciate tiny details like that.

It’s important to note that the image has not shown up on any of the main HBO social media platforms. Also, HBO Nordic has been known to jump the gun before. In season 7, the affiliate accidentally uploaded Episode 706, “Beyond the Wall,” to its servers before it was supposed to air, leaking it. They’re just excited.

Anyway, look over the image and then hit the comments to let us know if we’ve missed any detail.
