However, we will soon know who has been nominated for the 2018 Emmys this Thursday, July 12th! We are so eager to know which one of our favorites will make the cut, and of course, who will get snubbed altogether.

Best Drama

There is quite a few that will fall under this category alongside Westworld, including but not limited to This Is Us, The Handmaid’s TaleGame of Thrones, along with many others. And while it’s tough to say who will make the cut, I think we can rest assured knowing our show will secure itself a spot under the best drama category.

Best Actor-Drama

Our pick here is 100% for Jeffrey Wright as Bernard! This season of Westworld Wright killed it with his performance, and he deserves a place in this category alongside the likes of potential nominees Matthew Rhys, Sterling K. Brown, and others. His portrayal of a host and the tedious nuances that go with it are unlike anything we’ve seen, and we can’t think of anyone else that deserves a nomination for best actor in a drama more than him!

Evan Rachel Wood did such a phenomenal job as Dolores this season, and while the competition is extremely tough, we do hope she snags a nomination. The gradual yet abrupt shift in Dolores’ personality was executed flawlessly by Wood and her depiction of a host thirsty for rebellion and revenge is nothing short of amazing. Evan Rachel Wood, we’re cheering for you!

So much yes to the return of Anthony Hopkins as the elusive and mysterious Dr. Robert Ford in the second season of Westworld. Of course, fans were expecting his return in some form but the mystery of the Cradle and his return was everything fans could have hoped for.

With the Emmy nominations coming up, we are really hoping Hopkins gets himself a spot amongst his worthy colleagues which may include Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Mandy Patinkin, and David Harbour.

Another standout star that we truly believe belongs in this category is Zahn McClarnon, who played the poignant Akecheta this season. In episode 8, “Kiksuya”, McClarnon stole our hearts with his performance in the season’s best episode, and if anyone else deserves a spot in this category–it’s him!

Fans were in awe of his performance, and we all collectively agree that McClarnon deserves to be recognized for his amazing, mind-blowing portrayal of Akecheta.

A thousand times, yes! Perhaps the biggest contender for snagging a nomination this year on Westworld is Thandie Newton. Her portrayal of Maeve was badass, inspiring, and heartbreaking, and we really, really hope she is recognized for her efforts! We believe in you, Thandie!

Best Guest Actor-Drama

We have two picks under this category that we believe absolutely belong here–with the first one being Jimmi Simpson, who plays young William. In the moments he was a part of season two, he brought a certain allure and mystery to the story–most notably the episode with James Delos. While the competition is yet again tough in this category–he totally belongs!

Alongside him, we pick Peter Mullan, who plays James Delos. I mean, how amazing was his performance as a glitching host/human hybrid? That episode was completely unexpected, and he did such a badass job that I’d be shocked if he didn’t make the cut. His performance is devastatingly beautiful, and he really made an impact on fans with it!

And there you have it, folks! These are our picks for the 2018 Emmy nominations which are just a couple days away from being announced!

We hope every single person we’ve mentioned is nominated for their amazing work and portrayal of characters are seemingly out of this world. Best of luck to everyone on the cast and crew!
