Westworld threw us a frenzy of curveballs in its second season and while we were trying to piece the story together–so were the stars of the show.

Caution: Westworld season two spoilers ahead!

Westworld gave us many head-scratching moments in the second season, and between the mystery of the Forge, the Cradle, and multiple timelines, there was a lot to understand and grasp. It’s a relief to know that even Evan Rachel Wood, who plays the magnificent Dolores, was just as lost as we were.

"“I had no idea what was happening in season 2. At all. And we shot out of order, so most of the time – I mean, it was insane to be an actor on season 2. I don’t know how I feel about it.”"

It was such a mystery, in fact, that Wood along with the other cast would come on set to do a scene and would have no idea what episode they were filming. They chose to live in the moment and just give it their all with whatever scene they were to film that day.

By the end of the second season, Dolores “died” and was essentially transferred into Charlotte’s body which she used to trek outside the park walls. Wood shared how she would record the dialogue for Tessa Thompson, who plays Charlotte, and Thompson would then transform it into her own.

This is a pretty impressive feat and was pulled off flawlessly throughout the second season, so much so that most fans didn’t see it coming. There is a lot of time between now and the second season so it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.

We’re already confused as to what will happen, and that can only mean that the cast is right there with us!
