Have you heard of Castlevania, the classic Konami video game series about a family of vampire hunters and their generations-long battle against Dracula? If not, have you heard of Castlevania, Netflix’s hyper-violent, 100% nutso anime-style adaptation? The four-episode first season made a splash last year, impressing viewers with its bold style and buckets of blood. Now, Netflix is readying eight new episodes to drop on October 26, and it’s released a trailer. Get to it:

Castlevania is executive produced by Adi Shankar, a bit of a fanboy wunderkind who rose to prominence on the back of unauthorized, lavishly produced fan films like The Punisher: Dirty Laundry and Power/Rangers. The guy also knows his Castlevania; the show draws from different parts of the series’ history, mixing Symphony of the Night’s Alucard with a member of the long-fighting Belmont clan with the magic-using Sypha Belnades from Castlevania III. And if you don’t care about any of that, the show is plenty entertaining by itself because vampires and blood and whips and swords and fire and so on and so forth.

As long as we’re talking trailers for action shows/movies, feel free to check out the new one for Venom, Sony’s latest attempt to get a foot-hold in the crowded superhero market. Sony’s strategy for standing out: go R-rated as f***.

Venom stars Tom Hardy as the one-time-Spider-Man-villain-turned…I guess he counts as a hero, provided he fights someone worse?

Venom hits theaters October 5.

Next up: a new trailer for Iron Fist season 2, starring Game of Thrones‘ own Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell) as the titular superhero:

The first season of Iron Fist wasn’t well-received, and I’m not liking the look of those masks they’re wearing during the flashback (it’s a reference to Iron Fist’s masks from the comics, but still), but I wish Jones the best.

Finally, let’s circle back to anime with a new trailer for Alita: Battle Angel, James Cameron’s adaptation of  Yukito Kishiro’s classic 1990 manga:

Alita: Battle Angel will be out on December 21. Game of Thrones may not be back until 2019, but it’s turning out to be an interesting year for movies and TV.
