Take the Black Live: Season 8, “strong female characters,” and all things Jason Momoa

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s time for another episode of Take the Black Live, the show where myself and Culturess’ Cheryl Wassenaar discuss the latest and greatest bits of Game of Thrones news to hit the net, be it about the show, the upcoming prequel series, the books or the unassailable rise of Jason Momoa into the stratosphere on Hollywood’s highest circles. Roll the tape! Join the discussion! Ignore the wrinkled House banners!

This week’s topics include:

  • Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) has teased that the final season of Game of Thrones will be “full of betrayal,” among other things. Are we excited by the prospect of season 8 featuring a few double-crosses? We blather about some of our dream betrayals.
  • There was some hype this past week about the forthcoming Game of Thrones prequel featuring “strong female characters,” which is a nebulous term that gets thrown around a lot. What exactly do industry types mean when they talk about “strong female characters,” how does it relate to Game of Thrones, and what can we reasonably expect from the prequel?
  • Although he was only on one season of the show, Jason Momoa may be the most successful actor to come out of Game of Thrones. What about him makes him so appealing as a star? how high can he go?

We’ll be back next Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. to talk through more news. Also, there’s a giveaway coming! Hope to see you on our Facebook page.
