Finland: Varys

Although he doesn’t always come to mind right away when thinking of Game of Thrones power players, Varys knows how to affect change behind the scenes. The Spider and the Master of Whispers aren’t the cheeriest of nicknames, but Varys’ intentions are almost always pure. He cares deeply for Westeros and wants, above all, to see it well-maintained. His duty is to the realm, which means that he will not actually support bad rulers if they are doing harm to his adopted homeland.

With that in mind, I think that Finland is a good fit for Varys, since it has one of the least corrupt governments in the world. Perhaps Varys would find Finland relaxing, since a good part of his job would already be done.

Also, Finnish company Rovio Entertainment created the popular gaming app Angry Birds. Admittedly, this is a tongue-in-cheek connection, but it reminds of Varys’ own little birds, which he sends to collect information he can use to keep the realm in shape.
