Much like Maeve, Thandie Newton manages to look impeccable at all times. The Emmys were such an occasion where Newton came dressed to the T’s to accept the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her performance as Maeve on Westworld.

Westworld landed Newton a nomination and win and for the big award night, she wore a sophisticated one-shouldered pink gown that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is from Brandon Maxwell’s Spring/Summer 2019 line.

Imagine that, Newton’s dress was so freshly conceived that it had just recently been featured on the runway. The stand out feature of the gown was a scarf-like wrap that reached all the way to the floor.

Stylist Erin Walsh told The Hollywood Reporter that the look has a “very 60’s Diana Ross vibe.” To complete the vintage ensemble, Newton paired her dress with silver slingbacks that Walsh says is for a “disco vibe.”

Even Newton’s hair and makeup were set to compliment her 60’s theme. Makeup artist Georgie Eisdell punched up her eyes by adding glittery pink eyeshadow on the lids.

Newton’s hair was pinned back into a modest bun that set all of the attention on her large retro beaded earrings.

Newton’s complete ensemble gave her the flair and grace of a disco queen which she brought to the stage when she accepted her very first Emmy for her role on Westworld.

Here’s one thing to think about as you admire her look and celebrate Westworld’s win–Isn’t it ironic that an actress who plays an android from the future would accept an award for that very role in an outfit that’s a blast from the past?
