HBO to roll out new Game of Thrones Funko Pop! figures at New York Comic Con (UPDATED)
By Dan Selcke
Electricity. Oil. Natural gas. Funko Pop! figures. What do all of these things have in common? They’re all resources the world needs to function. HBO knows this, and in its infinite wisdom is preparing to give us more Funko figures at this year’s New York Comic Con, which kicks off at the Javits Center in New York City on October 4.
According to ComicBook.com, HBO is teaming up with Funko on a pop-up shop. It will rise on Thursday, October 4 at 42nd St. and 6th Avenue in Manhattan, where it will stay until the Con closes on October 7. It’s open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. the first three days of the con and 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the final day.
You’ll be able to get all kinds of HBO merch there, but we’re most interested the new Game of Thrones Funkos. Check ’em out:
Varys makes his Funko debut! People have made custom figures before but this is the first official one; about time.
Also making her Funko Pop! debut: Yara Greyoy, ready for action.
And also Gendry will be there! We’re getting a slew of as-yet un-Funko-fied characters.
There are official Funkos based on Bran Stark, but this is the first time he’s been in his wheelchair, and holding the dagger Littlefinger gave him in season 7, no less.
Finally, a Child of the Forest, looking ticked.
You can see even more Funkos at ComicBook.com, and buy entry into New York Comic Con here.
UPDATE: And now there are more Game of Thrones Funkos, as seen on the company’s webpage. We’ve got Beric Dondarrion, complete with flaming sword…
…and a three-pack of creators George R.R. Martin, David Benioff and Dan Weiss:
That’s pretty terrific.
