Evan Rachel Wood walked the Emmys red carpet with #MeToo activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Amanda Nguyen.
Evan Rachel Wood made a strong statement as she walked the Emmys red carpet earlier this week alongside #MeToo activist, Amanda Nguyen who has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for creating the Sexual Assault Survivor’s Bill of Rights, according to People.com.
Wood brought Nguyen along for the big award night and donned a black outfit in support of the Time’s Up Movement. Both women have testified in Congress together according to an interview they did with E! Live on the red carpet.
Evan Rachel Wood stated that it is “a crucial time in history right now, especially for women and civil rights.” She also went on to say that she is here to support ACLU and the families that have been separated at the border.
It was quite the inspirational sight to see both Wood and Nguyen together on the red carpet because of their mutual love and dedication for women’s rights and equality. So how does Wood find the inspiration to devote time to work and philanthropic efforts? Self-care.
She believes that if you put yourself first, it’s when you’re most likely to progress forward. Wise words by a wise woman. Wood even had a few inspirational words for her fans which made us stan her more than ever:
"“Just make sure you take care of yourself and love yourself first. That is the foundation of everything. I think we’re all stronger than we realize. It’s there. Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid.”"
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Evan Rachel Wood was nominated for an Emmy this year in the Lead Actress in A Drama Series category, which was won by The Crown’s Claire Foy.
